Faculty of Engineering
Engineering solutions for a better tomorrow.
Built around academic excellence, applied research and industry relevance.
Building on this foundation, the Faculty of Engineering rapidly expanded its academic footprint, gaining official recognition as a degree-awarding institution through Extraordinary Gazette No. 1995/39 in 2016, launching its initial BSc (Hons) Engineering programmes in Electronics and Power Systems, Electronics and Telecommunication, and Electronics and Engineering Management, and further broadening its scope by 2017 with the introduction of Civil Engineering and Information and Communication Engineering.
During this period, the faculty also progressed toward a research-university model, strengthening its global outlook through international pathway partnerships with leading institutions such as Deakin University, RMIT University, Lancaster University, and University of Auckland, enabling students to complete part of their degrees overseas.
A significant milestone in the institution’s journey was the inaugural convocation held in December 2021, where the first cohort of 106 engineering graduates was conferred their degrees at the prestigious Nelum Pokuna Theatre, marking the successful culmination of its founding academic vision.
Vision

Mission
To provide high-quality, affordable, and industry-relevant education in Electronics and Power Systems Engineering.
Message from the Dean
Prof. Saman Jayaweera Bandara
Welcome to the Faculty of Engineering at Sri Lanka Technology Campus.
At SLTC, we are committed to delivering an engineering education that is firmly grounded in strong fundamentals while remaining responsive to the rapidly evolving technological landscape. Our programmes are designed to provide students with a broad understanding across engineering disciplines in the early stages, followed by focused specialization, enabling them to become versatile and adaptable engineers.
Our teaching and learning environment emphasizes industry relevance, practical exposure, and problem-solving skills. Through close engagement with industry partners, project-based learning, and hands-on laboratory experience, we ensure that our graduates are well prepared to meet real-world challenges and contribute meaningfully from the outset of their careers.
Graduate employability remains a central focus of the Faculty of Engineering. Our curricula are continuously reviewed and enhanced through stakeholder engagement and aligned with national and international standards, ensuring both academic rigor and professional relevance. We place strong emphasis on developing not only technical competence, but also communication, ethical responsibility, and lifelong learning skills.
At a time when engineering is being reshaped by digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies, we strive to equip our students with the confidence and capability to use these tools effectively, built on a solid foundation of engineering principles.
We invite you to be part of a dynamic academic community that is committed to excellence, innovation, and shaping future-ready engineers who will contribute to industry, society, and national development.
